-As Mediterranean or Cooley’s anemia knownTo haemolysis, the patient is prone.-Microcytic Hypochromic RBC’s and also target cellsIs the story which the blood film tells.

-Reticulocytes and bilirubin indirect increased

With MCV, MCH, MCHC all decreased

-Haemoglobin Electrophoresis is a must

Gives a diagnosis, which one can trust

-High HbF and HbA2 levels are seen

Absent or variable HbA noted has been

-A handy tool is the iron stain

Siderotic granules are the finding main

-The homozygote is of types two

Beta zero and plus, label them you do.

  • 80% of nephrotics, it does comprise

Boys below 16 years pay the price.

  • Idiopathic it is, cause unknown

Possible mechanisms immune have been shown.

  • In the net of protein loss, albumin is caught

Label of selective proteinuria, it has got.

  • No change grossly it does produce

Shape and size, increase nor reduce.

  • Changes in glomeruli and tubules are slight

Noted this is on microscopy light.

  • On EM, fl at, foot processes of podocytes seen

Labeled as the foot process disease it has been.

  • Immunofl uorescence - absent deposits does claim

Hence, “nil deposit disease” is also its name.

-Enlarged are kidneys in a symmetrical manner

Heamorrhages cortical, give it a flea bitter “banner”.

-Enlarged and hypercellular glomeruli are present

Proliferative and exudative activity they represent.

-“Humps” are deposits election dense

Seen on epithelial side of the fence.

-With Immunofluorescence, study them you do

Composed they are of IgG and C3 too.

-Alzheimer’s, Alzheimer’s, it’s called the Alzheimer’sConfusion, and memory loss, it’s all about Alzheimer’s

 

-Dementia it causes, progressive it is

Without a cure, aggressive it is

 

-Brain scans show a typical picture

Plaques and tangles show up on the picture

 

-With no cause known, elderly are affected

Sometimes however, younger are affected

 

-A genetic causation has been advised

With multiple genes, so called devised

 

-Neuro-degeneration it causes ultimately

Withdrawal from society is seen subsequently

 

-Caregivers are devastated, and health budgets drained

But the poor patient is still left rotten and untamed

Riedel’s thyroiditis is chronic and rare
Structures adjacent also, it does not spare.

Contracted is the gland and hard as stone
With compressive symptoms, patient does morn.

On females between 40-70 it picks
Carcinoma of thyroid it mimics.

Multifocal fibrosclerosis of reason unknown
To fibrosis, widespread the patient is prone.

Fibrocollagenous tissue is dominant
And thyroid parenchyma is not prominent.

Congestion & mucosal regeneration noted have been

Dysplasia to Neoplasia-spectrum entire is seen.

Begins in the rectum and backwards it goes

No mercy to any part of colon it shows.

Continuous it is, skip areas without

Ulcerative colitis it is, without a doubt.

Mucosa has ulcers, you should know

Linearity & superficiality they show.

 

Muscle contracted & narrow, problem does pose

Provides it, the appearance of a garden hose.

 

Sometimes it waxes and sometimes wanes

Accordingly active or resolving status it gains.

 

Crypt abscesses are always produced

And goblet cells are markedly reduced.

 

Congestion & mucosal regeneration noted have been

Dysplasia to Neoplasia-spectrum entire is seen.
